Sydney International airport has a curfew from 11pm to 6am, no flights in or out except in "exceptional circumstances". I find it really nice to not have 747s and A380s screaming over every 6 minutes all night...

Well that makes sense, but I guess as a NY'er I find it really unusual to not hear trains, cars and planes 24/7.
